Paul Schulz’s painting, “Spectrum of Life,” features many of his favorite plants and animals across the color spectrum, like a “living rainbow.” It is his tribute to the beauty and diversity of our living world.
Paul is an accomplished wildlife artist who has traveled the world to experience our planet’s amazing biodiversity.
From an early age growing up in Central Florida, he continues to love learning about plants and animals. In 1972, at the age of 12, he got to travel to the Galapagos Islands, and at 14, he took his first trip to the Amazon. Since then, he has been fortunate to personally visit reefs and forests around the planet, encountering many of his favorite animals in the wild.
Natural designs have always been inspiring to Paul, who conceived the Spectrum of Life website as an easy, fun, and extremely informative hub of information for students and teachers alike.
“Our living world is the source of endless patterns, shapes, textures, and colors. Biodiversity is Beautiful! The abundance and variety of life forms on our planet is truly a source of profound wonderment. Biodiversity is also essential for all life. The food we eat, air we breathe, the products we use, and the pets we love, all originate from biodiversity. By learning about biodiversity and trying to measure and understand it, all manner of topics, from evolution to extinction, come into play. Hopefully, awareness leads to conservation.”
